Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.
The song above “The Heavenly Vision” which was later renamed “Turn your eyes upon Jesus” has been on my heart for the past few weeks and the more I think about the words, the more insight I get. Living in the Betel home has been very challenging, yet enlightening for me. I live with women whose lives have not been a walk in the park, whose journeys make me want to weep, but they have chosen to fight on in the face of adversity.
I know that I was put on this earth for a purpose and that God is using and will continue to use me as a vessel of honor and love in this world we live in. I worry about my school debt and all the things I still need to pay for, but as I play my part in taking care of my responsibilities and look unto Jesus as well, it will all be taken care of. As long as I take my eyes off myself, my needs and my own ways and keep Him as the focus, I’ll have the strength and grace I need to continue my journey.
I salute these women for their strength, courage, and wisdom in choosing to follow Jesus and be who He created them to be.
